Will it dissolve or should I let the surgeon resolve? Possible Hematoma.
Post Body

I’m 2 weeks into recovery and I think I’m retaining some fluid. I had DI, with drains, and a compression vest. I’m not sure if it matters how it happened at this point but I want to know how to fix the problem. I’ve reached out to my surgeon/nurse and they want me to come back to them for an assessment but I live out of town so that’s a last case scenario. I’m still wearing the vest most of the day and a gc2b binder at night. The compression makes it WAY better but as soon as I remove them, it feels like my pec fills back up. It’s only the left pec at this point. It’s not always painful, mostly at night when I’m laying flat on my back, or when the compression has been off for more that 15 mins, or when the swelling is making my skin tight and pull at my incisions. I say all that to say, has anyone had this problem? Did it resolve on its own? Is there possibly another option rather than taking another trip out of town? A hospital? Would my PCP (primary care) be able to do anything? I’m taking arnica tablets and bromelain, drinking plenty water, high protein intake. Is there anything else I can do to help it absorb? Heat? Ice? Massage? I’m really scared of it hardening and them not being able to do anything about it.
