How much weight should I try to lose before I have top surgery?

Post Body

Hi folks. So I have just recently Re-started a weight loss journey. I’m pretty overweight, and pretty embarrassed about it. Right now I’m 5’6” and 235 pounds, which makes me sick to even write out.

I want to lose some weight before having top surgery, but I have some questions. I don’t have all my letters yet to have my consultation so I would just ask my surgeon but I don’t want to wait.

Would 30-35 pounds be enough to see a good result, or would losing more weight beyond that after the surgery make the results look weird?

Should I try to get as close to my goal weight as possible before the surgery? (Goal weight 170)

Pls let me know what you think.
