Post Body

I’m having surgery this week. I’m so excited! However, I am planning on staying with my mom for the week after surgery and I don’t really like being around my mom. I’m grateful she is supporting me getting surgery, but she is chronically mentally ill and being around her always leaves me feeling drained. I try not to be around her when I’m feeling vulnerable, as I will be after surgery, but I just don’t have anyone else right now.

So I’m wondering how much will I really need someone to be with me after surgery. I imagine I will definitely need someone for the first day or two. The plan is being with her for a week - I’m wondering if I could cut it short.

What was the first week after surgery like for you? Did you need someone to be with you?
