In developing countries, transition vs career?

Post Body

Are there any of you from any developing countries who wish you had waited to transition? I'm from India, where nobody's even heard of transmen.

I'm 22 and my mom warns me to wait until I am settled abroad in other developed countries to begin transition, because I can't get a job or a seat for higher education applying as a transguy in India as well as abroad. She's saying I'm ruining my life by being impatient. And I'm concerned whether she might be right.

But I have already been waiting to transition for 7 years and I don't want to wait a few more years, pretending to be someone else. On the other hand, my parents and I have made lots of sacrifices in our lives till now for me to get a top tier career, and I'm now wondering if I'd have to choose between my life and my career. Or am I going about this entirely wrongly?

Have you guys faced this? What did you choose? Do you wish you chose differently? Please share your perspectives.
