Post Body

A vent, but if you have advice feel free. Im just so tired. Forgive bad formatting, im mobile. TLDR at the bottom.

Context: My family is super transphobic, almost got pulled out of my past school for ONE student gendering me properly. Since, I have reached high school, and due to the accepting nature of the school chose to come out. This included to administration. Again, my school is HIGHLY accepting. So, they permitted me to use the mens bathroom and change in a mens bathroom for PE.

Today I was called to guidance. It was to tell me that because I was not accepted at home, they could not allow me to use the mens bathrooms at school. I understand the reasoning behind it, (Although here this is highly unlikely) god forbid something happen, the first question my parents would ask is “why was she allowed in the mens room anyway” from there, a spiral out of my control.

He (counselor) also emphasized that although HE personally supported me, as did my teachers and admin, they cannot support me legally.

Now, they won’t actively stop me, nor will most people (the entire school is good abt LGBTQ issues) but I’m worried now that I’ve lost my administrative backing.

I’ve been advised a few different things -Nurses bathroom, which would work as long as I’m on the first floor. I am physically impaired and cannot use stairs, so elevator time adds up quick and I could easily take way too long. If this happens, the school will restrict my bathroom time. -Go in the mens room, but take a buddy. This would mean needing to go with someone, but overall not a horrible outcome. A little embarrassing maybe, but I’ll take it. Go in the womens room I wouldn’t get in trouble (do not pass) but you know, dysphoria.

TLDR: allowed to use mens room, but not anymore due to lack of support. Thoughts?
