So I'm MtF and I have a cold right now for the first time since starting HRT almost a year ago. One of my boyfriends is FtM and told me it wouldn't be as bad as it was when I was T dominant. He believes being sick is somehow made worse by testosterone. I... Kinda think he might be right? Like I'm definitely sick. Congested, runny nose, sore throat, fatigue, weakness. And yet... IDK, I still kinda feel like I'm fine? Having a cold was definitely MUCH more miserable before. Before I would be running for the cold medicine by now but this time it's like... 🤷♀️ And he said having a cold is way worse for him now. (He's been on HRT almost three years) Have any of you had the same experience he has with being on T making it feel worse when you get sick compared to pre HRT?
EDIT: So after a quick Google search, this is actually a thing. Testosterone weakens your immune system. It has anti-inflammatory properties that are potent and inflammation is an important component to a strong immune response.
