For a bit of context, I'm almost 20 and have been socially transitioning since I was 13 and been on T since I was 14, so I've been living as male for a hot minute. I hate when people ask me my pronouns, especially since I've been transitioning for so long. It makes me feel extremely dysphoric because my brain is convinced that if someone is asking that they don't truly see me as a 'real man', whatever the fuck that means lol. To clarify, I don't think it's a bad question to ask someone and it's important to ask if you genuinely don't know/don't want to be rude, but something about it just rubs me the wrong way.
trans girl here. i feel like its exclusively like middle aged liberal women who ask while everyone else calls me "she" intuitively. it bothers me because its like those people always single me out as the person of indeterminate gender, even as they assume she for my nonbinary partner.

and like with people my own age i could be like "hey like dont write a song about it just use my pronouns" but its harder when its someone that's older that i kind of naturally want to be respectful towards
