I been in cars all my life! I have two Miataâs and an rx7 ( fb not the fast and furious one). When I was a female, no one took me seriously . They saw my car as a âman carâ ( the rx7). Even though I wonât call myself a master, I know my way around a rotary engine. But as a female, they dismiss everything I say. ( for context, my uncle gave me the car as a graduation gift , he is the one who taught me and gives me advice).
I remember one instant, this guy was straight up arguing with me about pre mixing my car. My uncle told me a certain way to take care of the car. This guy told me I didnât know anything.
Now that I transitioned , men flock to my car like honey to a fly. They ask me a lot of questions and even advice. It feels good , but sort of bittersweet. So I made sure to always respect everyone car and always give women credit for their cars because I been in their position.
I just want to see if anyone had any similar experience to me in the car community. It may be toxic, but once you find your group, itâs so fun! I wonât trade it for anything
