So a couple weeks ago I had to pick up my testosterone gel, this would be my fifth bottle of the stuff atp. For context, Iām in southeast Michigan. This is a relatively decent area to live in if youāre trans, or lgbt in general. Every other time Iāve picked up my script in the past, Iāve been fine. The workers are usually pretty chill, just asking for the usual info they need to give me what I need.
HOWEVER, (this is CVS for added context),this last time I came to pick up my prescription, the worker had gave me a funny look when I told her my prescription was for Testosterone. Then after looking at my drivers license, she said in a low tone āhey, you do know thatā¦this is for menā¦right? You shouldnāt be taking this.ā
Iām not a very confrontational person, however, I did make sure to say something along the lines of āIām transitioning, what my doctors prescribe to me and why Iām taking said medication is none of your business.ā She gave me it afterwards, and I kinda skiddadeled out of there, feeling extremely awkward ofc.
I initially was going to file a complaint, but this specific CVS is closed permanently now. Thatās a whole different situation (transferring my T to another CVS). But I figured thereās no point in doing so. Still a funny (weird not haha) situation.
