Losing weight for top surgery?
Post Body

Hello!

I'm looking for advice to lose weight for my top surgery. Here's the details:

  • I'm 19.
  • I currently weigh 205lbs or 93.9kg. I'm 5"6 so I have a BMI of 33.9.
  • My goal weight is 170lbs/77kgs or less. This is a BMI of 27.
  • I am three months on testosterone! (Yay!!)
  • I have scoliosis, so exercising is limited. It's not extreme but I can't do stuff like running and lots of weights.
  • I'm recovering from an eating disorder, so extreme diets and obsessive calorie counting isn't good.
  • I'm also poor so no gym lol.

I'm already working on my eating habits, mainly controlling portions and minimizing the processed crap and I walk for at least an hour every day, I've lost 4lbs doing this alone since starting T. I've also asked to be referred to an ED friendly nutritionist.

I know this is a difficult situation to advise, but I'd really appreciate any suggestions or even just support from you guys. My surgeon was incredibly rude and insulting about my weight, I understand doctors need to be blunt but it was definitely more than that. I'm happy to lose weight for something as important as top surgery, but admittedly I want to spite this man by going beyond the minimum weight he wanted me to lose. He wanted a minimum BMI of 30.
