Been on T for 8 months. My doctor is very laid back. Almost too laid back. Doesnāt give me confidence in what weāre doing. I recall the second appointment I had with her when she taught me to administer my shot. We finished and she was just like āalright weāll Iāll see you next time.ā I was like, āwait, when do I come back??ā Her response, āmeh, 6 months?!ā
So of course I came back in 6 months my levels were checked again but not sure how accurate they were bc my shot day was maybe the day or two prior. That appointment she told me I can double my dose, so I did, and I still havenāt had any labs or returned since then. Iām the only ftm person I know, so idk if this is normal procedure or if I should be a lot more involved with my dr.
What is everyone elseās experience with doctors and doctor visits like? How frequently do you go? How often do you get labs to check hormone levels? How involved is your doctor in this whole process???
Thereās another place in the city I live that is known for helping trans folks and Iām considering becoming a patient there instead .
