Does anyone know from experience or just through educating themselves, what life looks like for a transman who decides to get pregnant after they started their transition?
I know that speaking with my doctor and therapist are two key factors, but the more I think and prepare for my future the harsher the reality is that if I want a kid who’s genetically bonded to me, it’ll probably never happen.
I think this is probably the biggest hurdle transmen have to face if they want a family. Unless they have a sibling with the same parents or a partner willing to pay for egg retrieval and transplant and a sperm donor, the chances of having a kid who’s biologically a piece of you won’t happen.
It’s kind of put a damper on me mentally, especially the more I think about how I’m almost 28 and if I want a chance at saving my eggs, I’d need to make the decision soon before they get to the point of not being fertile enough.
