I’m moving from my current job into an office job and I’m going to need some smart clothes. I went into town to try on some stuff from second hand stores today and none of the trousers I found fitted me right.

I’ve got pretty wide hips, and also a generous behind with a 32 ish waist. I think a lot of the ones I tried on were ‘vintage’ style, they had approx 32 waist but then the legs were so baggy. There were some more modern work trousers I tried on but they were just so tight around my hips and butt, felt like they would rip if I sat down.

I really want to find some stuff second hand but I just feel so disheartened and so uncomfortable. Does anyone have advice for a style of smart trouser that might fit me well? Accommodating my hips but thinner on the legs ? And if possible smoothing out the hips to make them look smaller?
