Hi there!
I am having top surgery in two weeks. I have asymmetrical breasts - one is about a cup size larger and also sits lower on my chest.
My surgeon has recommended that I go with symmetrical scars, even though that means, for one breast, he will have to place the scar above the crease rather than directly on the crease. (Ei., the crease under where the breast currently sits).
He says that this does create a risk that there will be some remaining tissue under (as in, below, in the direction of my belly, rather than below-inside-me) the scar on one side. He will try not to have this happen, but it is definitely possible.
I would love to hear your thoughts on this. Would it be better to have the symmetical scars and the risk of extra chest tissue south of the scar on one side, or assymetrical scars, without this risk?
It would be awesome if anyone could share their experiences with either choice and show pictures!
Thank you!
