yep. another fa20 bites the dust.
jus recently spun a bearing but cant pinpoint the cause. i've been thinking the oil cooler lines is too long to maintain oil pressure. it's 8 foot long hoses for both IN and return to the cooler and sandwich plate. i refilled the system afterwards since i lost a quart or 1.5 quart of oil after draining the oil cooler. everything is normal on first start-up and i drove off when everthing is good (water temp, oil temp, and oil pressure)
before the engine seizes, i made a 2nd gear pull, before it reaches the redline, i suddenly felt a strong engine brake-like feel. i just coast the car to neutral since the road is a long slope.
after that, i noticed that my Defi Oil pressure gauge is giving me a low pressure warning light. a erratic idle and a subtle tick when i rev the engine up to 3k rpm. i can also feel the powerloss when trying to drive it normally.
I decided to overhaul the engine since the ticking sound gets louder when i tried to start the engine the next day. will be going forged internals for durability and reliability.
any suggestions or stories about your experience that you encountered with your 86/BRZ/FRS will help me a lot. cheers !
