I finally obtained one of my many dream build, 2013 FRS, long story short i know absolutely nothing about boxer engines.
I bought this non running, owner said he was told it had a knock, and was did not seem sure if it was rod bearings but said it would start and run, we tried to start it but all it did was crank, and the gas light was on so we figured it was that(its a project with a salvage title so i have 0 complaints honestly) but i would like to atleast get it running for a few seconds to make sure the knock is not fuel or spark related before i spend money on rod/main bearings, while going though the standard checks (fuel, spark, etc) it has fuel pressure and its not that but when i goto the coil packs and spark plugs, which by the way no one told me i needed to have toddler hands for, i used a multimeter on the packs and did not get any readings…now this is the part i am stuck at
I had inadvertently pulled the 3 wires out if the connector on the alternator and can’t really find the correct way the orange, blue/red and purple wires go into the connector, one would assume that the 3 wires have something to do with delivery of spark to coil packs THAAAT BEING SAID
Multimeter test on all 4 packs doesn’t show any readings and i am using ohms (reads 0.L with no change to any of the connection and with switching the 3 wires around i still and not getting spark to plugs
So if you made it this far…
I need to know 2 things
Do i need new coil packs?
What order (top to bottom) do the 3 wires on the alternator go?
Thank you for reading this, i promise i am not helpless i just dont know shit about electrical
