edit: MOSTLY fixed! i'm back in the class, my 16k scholarship is no longer being revoked, and i'm just awaiting my bright futures to go back up now thanks to everyone's help here!!
my english prof dropped me from his class because he mistakenly marked me absent on the first day, but i have proof of being there (photo i took in class, paper i submitted in class). he told me to talk to the registrar, who told me to talk to my advisor, who told me to talk to office of undergrad services today. i called the OUS today and was told there was nothing i can do and that the deadline to be added back was at 4pm today. i've emailed the dean of OUS and academic affairs, but haven't heard anything back. now i'm at 13 credit hours so im losing a scholarship and im also off track in my major since i had to take this class this semester. none of this was my fault, it was a simple mistake on my professors part that snowballed into this giant pain in my ass. Does anyone know what else I can do? I did everything I was told to in a timely manner, the only reason I didn't call the OUS in time was because my advisor didn't tell me to call them until today at 3pm. I did actually call at 3:40 today, even left a voicemail and emailed them, but nobody answered til i called again at 4:30. any advice? i seriously can't afford to lose that scholarship, i won't be able to afford rent. I have a job with a high pay rate, but it's just not enough to cover everything. I seriously care about my classwork and have a great GPA, will they care at all or just dismiss me?
edit: thank you guys!! i've emailed pretty much everyone that y'all suggested, and the prof that messed up the attendance is emailing on my behalf as well. apparently my bright futures is also being affected by this, as it dropped from 3k to 2k this morning, which sucks, but let's hope it all gets fixed
edit: no response from financial aid yet, but i got an email from the dean of undergrad studies saying she's going to start the process of getting me back into the class!!! if i'm not officially added back by Saturday, i plan to email her once again to remind her. i'm assuming that my financial aid will go back to normal once im back in the class, but just in case it won't, i've emailed them once again. thank you all for the advice!! :)
thank you. i'm going in tomorrow (hopefully), but if that doesn't work out, i have a mostly free day on Friday and i'll be on campus. my prof wrote a letter but so far has gotten no response. i'm really really hoping they'll add me back as it's clear none of this was my fault, but i don't know if it's even possible to add me back in their system.
somehow this never occurred to me. thank you, i will!
gotcha, thank you!! i think it might be different for me since im exploratory (switching to finance this month tho), otherwise my advisor is seriously screwing me over by not just adding me back after i sent her a letter my prof wrote
gotcha. i emailed them as well, so let's hope everything goes smoothly from here on
not sure if you worded this wrong or if i'm confused. did you email your professor or someone else, and did you get your profs approval or someone elses?

got it, i'll go in tomorrow. thank you for the advice.!
is the dean of arts and sciences the correct person to go to? the class was ENC2135
It is not - ENC1101 and 2135 are managed by Undergrad Studies, not the English department.
i'm a freshman and didn't realize that there was still a professor for the class even though a TA is teaching it </3

for some reason i said professor in my post, but it was a TA who's teaching the class
honestly i don't have an good answer. i had mistakenly assumed that this wouldn't impact my financial aid until about an hour ago when i double checked; i thought the min hours for my scholarship was 12 but its 15. my TA just now sent another email to the dean and i plan to talk to him in person tomorrow, I'm just hoping something can be done at this point.
i'm going to wait today for responses from the deans and advisors today, but if i don't get those then i'm going to email the president tomorrow morning. thank you!!!
the were the first people to email me back, and told me that my issue wasn't in their jurisdiction. they directed me to the dean of english who has yet to reply

he's a TA and it's the first class he's ever taught, so i'm giving him the benefit of the doubt. it's an honest mistake, and hopefully he's learned a lesson on double checking attendance. i'm mostly annoyed at my advisor since it took her 4 days to respond to my email, and by the time she did, it was 2 hours until the OUS deadline.
