Statement on Reddit’s forced removal of moderators and closure of subs (FSU is safe)
Post Body

A few people from here reached out to ask about this so I figured I’d drop a definitive update.

As some of you may know, the CEO of Reddit has been firing entire moderator teams this week, forcefully closing subreddits, and installing corporate employees as very strict moderators with new sets of rules for their communities, in response to the third party applications protest.

To be completely clear, the FSU subreddit will not be affected by this, will not be closed, and our moderators have not been contacted in any way by the Reddit corporate team like other subreddits have been.

The other Florida university subreddits also appear to be fine, except UCF, whose moderators were threatened by Reddit but agreed to their demands to make sure the community was left alone.

Thanks for reading and feel free to reach out if you have questions. Go Noles!
