Switched to a flight with a 24 hour layover. What are my options?

I bought tickets for me and two other people to go to coast to coast. Now, I’ve been notified that the layover is 24 hours.
Do I have the option of getting my money back or changing the flight? Can I get a credit?
Is it true that I can’t call frontier or ask these questions at a ticket counter?
