So I'm re-watching And I have some questions. At the end of season 3 we find out that the machine was actually Walter sending it back through a wormhole in central park and that he was "the first people". So was the device's purpose supposed to make a bridge to heal the words, show peter the future or cause destruction of both worlds? I don't understand when Walter was saying the device was sent back to show peter the future?
