I (33/m) no longer find joy in my friends that I’ve known since I was a kid. We talk often, but we have completely different views on a lot of things now and they are overly involved in political discussions every day with each other, and I’m the only one who doesn’t agree with it or annoyed that they even talk politics.

I live in a smaller community with my wife and kid so it’s hard to meet new friends. I want to leave our group chat (4 people) we have had for over 13 years, but then I’m afraid of feeling lonely for the rest of my life and regret disconnecting completely.

Getting older is hard, no one warned me that I was going to be lonelier.
