Do people overuse the phrase "red flag" nowadays? (Check description for more context)

I have recently seen the phrase "red flag" going around on Reddit quite a lot, I understand some people genuinely are a red flag but a lot of the 'examples' I see are just people who are different and don't fit a certain persons standards so they just jump to call them a "red flag", I do definitely get it through in some cases where people have had bad experiences with that type of person but still
