These people are unhinged!
Post Body

Alright, so I've been hearing Jordan go off on the journalistic integrity of a range of individuals in the Australian media landscape without really bothering to check things out myself. I stumbled upon the daily telegraph today and saw a subscription for all the paywalled content was only $1 so figured fuck it, let's check it out.

Now, I want to be clear, my expectations were extraordinarily low to begin with but these people are fucking unhinged!

Below are a few excerpts.

From Piers Akerman's "Albo and Left must accept that no means no"

Within hours of Albanese’s ungracious concession remarks last Saturday evening, the unelected self-appointed voices of the Aboriginal industry were slamming those who opposed changing the Constitution and creating a massive new race-based bureaucracy. Three Northern Territory Land Councils were the latest to echo the patronising elites who tried to shame voters into voting Yes, but land councils block individual Aboriginals by preventing them owning their own homes. They hold all land communally under the neo-communistic system set up by the Whitlam government and taking away the pride in home ownership enjoyed by other Australians.

The whole motive for the establishment of a Voice was to cement this control and power in the hands of Aboriginal elites. The people of Australia voted to ensure all people are treated equally under one law and not divided by heritage or race.

From David Penberthy's "Ridiculous ‘right’ to disconnect laws don’t fit modern jobs":

In the minds of some, it now seems that having a job is such an ordeal that every aspect of the working day must be measured against its impact on our happiness and wellbeing.

All forms of stress are apparently deleterious, every deadline creates unbearable pressure, and being told what to do by your supervisor can be construed as belittling or bullying conduct.

Perhaps the end game is a world where people are simply paid not for doing a job but having a job. A job where the potentially hazardous concept of expectations has been expunged from the contract.

The best example of this mindset is the absurdity around the so-called “right” to disconnect.

I didn’t know such a right existed.

In Haiti and Liberia people are still hoping to exercise their right to clean water and shelter. Here in the pampered West, people are having an attack of the vapours if they get an email after 5pm.

Best get onto the United Nations to see if we can have the freedom not to get emails given equal billing alongside the right not to die from dysentery.

From Piers Akerman's "Leftist thinking has Australia practically defenceless"

The late Hal Colebatch, whose friendship I cherished since schooldays, detailed the appalling saga of the war waged by key trade unions from 1939 to 1945 in his masterful account Australia’s Secret War.

Wharfies smashed equipment they were meant to load for our soldiers operating in New Guinea and the Pacific Islands, our warships sailed to and from combat zones without ammunition, and planned rescue missions for Australian prisoners-of-war in Borneo were abandoned because wharf strikes left rescuers without heavy weapons.

Officers had to prevent Australian and American troops from killing striking trade unionists. In all, about six million working days were lost directly through strikes.

Today, we have a military that is under strength by about 7 per cent, and recruitment efforts are risible. Adverts emphasising diversity dreamt up by woke advertising ideals in cahoots with desk-bound administrators in Canberra aren’t working.

The harsh reality that outgoing Defence chief Angus Campbell doesn’t wish to admit is that we need men and women in our defence forces who are prepared to kill.

From Erin Molan's "You should be fearful that war is on our doorstep"

Say what you like about Donald Trump — and even if it is because other world leaders think he’s crazy and somewhat unhinged — his ability to ‘control’ dangerous dictators is the best we’ve seen in a long time.

I use inverted commas appropriately and wisely.

Executing effective diplomacy is a tough balance. Speak softly and carry a big stick and all of that. We all know the stronger you are the greater the deterrent to attack.

The greatest threat to our way of life right now is hostilities leading to war in our region. The Chinese President is under pressure at home. Yes, he rules with an iron fist but youth unemployment is rising and the behemoth that is their economy is struggling. He might not respect democracy but the people under his command are far more powerful than they might believe and he will be acutely aware of this.

One way to unite a nation is to declare war on another.
