Seeing from my previous poll, the vast majority of you seem to think that Obama or even TRUMP were better, and I don't understand why.
Biden accomplished
- $1400 stimulus cheque, child tax credit.
-The first infrastructure bill in decades.
-The inflation reduction act (the first green infrastructure deal in US history).
-In the inflation reduction act, Biden snuck in a passage redefining carbon emissions as a pollutant to overrule the supreme court's decision to snub the EPA and allow them to regulate CO2 emissions again (basically saving the fight against climate change).
-Raised the minimum wage for federal employees and federal contractors.
-Instituted new project labour agreements (allowing 200 hired union workers to get higher wages as a result).
-Appointed Ketanji Brown Jackson (the first true progressive scotus judge since LBJ).
-Net onshored jobs for the first time since deinstrialization (which caused net outsourcing of jobs).
-The first gun control legislation since Bush Sr, which instituted nationwide no-flag laws and closed the "boyfriend loophole".
-The first pro-labour NLRB since Carter, an NLRB that is actually doing it's job, cracking down on union busting, and siding with the workers for once (Reagan created a precedent with his NLRB that he'd turn a blind eye to union busting and labour abuses which every president since had continued).
-The first SEC and FTC since Carter, one which is actually doing it's job regulating businesses, fighting mergers, suing monopolies, and cracking down on illegal business practices (Reagan also created a precedent where he'd approve every merger and turn a blind eye to abuses with his SEC and FTC).
-America first "Made In America" provisions that require that the government must only purchase from American brands (thus letting the government invest in their own companies and generate them jobs and income).
-Massively reduced the drone war and cut troops overseas for the first time since 9/11
-The PACT Act, which gave healthcare to toxic burn pit victims and 9/11 victims.
Obama and Bill Clinton were both extremely charming, but terrible presidents. Biden truly did more good in 2 years of office (Remember, this was in the 2 years that his party actually had a majority in congress). Besides maybe Obamacare, and minor expansions of the welfare state, both Obama and Clinton were Socially Progressive, but Fiscally conservative.
There are many other things I could list here, but Biden is frequently ranked as the most Pro-Union president since fucking roosevelt (I mean, Imo Carter was probably more pro union but I'm not american so IDK), and unambiguously the most progressive president since carter, and the best since LBJ, or even JFK depending on how you consider Vietnam.
And keep in mind that even when the US house of representatives was majority democratic, the senate was split 50/50, with some openly conservative democrats such as Joe Machin.
People need to stop hating on him for the fact that he is old, and actually look at his policies.
