It just seems really out of character. He's the protector of the camp and yet he chooses to actively leave the camp area on a boat.
A quick fix for this would have been to have Jason chase someone onto the ship. He can kill that person before they warn others but now he's on the boat that's already left.
But the way its presented, Jason basically having a normal day, consciously decides to board a random ship.
How did you perceive this? Did you buy it?
Not at all. Given that Camp Crystal Lake is across the Hudson in New Jersey, they could’ve saved themselves time, money, and lives and just bussed it to Manhattan
