Hey everyone I recently picked up a T5810, after installing Truenas to try it out. I decided I wanted to add more hard drives, I was originally told this could support up to 4 3.5 drives. But I seem to only be able to have 2 3.5 in installed cage and theres a 5.25 to 2 2.5 bay adapter in there. That's all for hard drive space there is, slightly pissed and wish I got a 5820.
Anyways back to my question, for Truenas should I just stick to 2x2tb 3.5 and get additional 2x2tb 2.5 (seem to all be SMR at a decent price or SSD at double to triple the price for the same size). Or should I buy the 3.5 adapter and run just 3 3.5bays, leaving one 2.5 free? Truenas is installed on a 480gb ssd inside a laptop size optical caddy so there's technically 3 2.5 bays.
Later down the road, I might get a jbod but for now I just want best use of my t5810.
Thanks!
