I've not applied to a lodge... yet. I do pay attention to various things, and something i noticed one day that stands out is saint louis telephone area codes. The city is the approx center of the "lower 48" states, and abracadabra ! - The area codes are pi for the west side of the Mississippi (gateway arch region) and phi in The East (Illinois side). Yes, 314 and 618 are our unlikely but brilliantly placed phone numbers here.
I pay attention. I really like arches and math and planets and music, too. You might say i was born paying attention to these things; I believe i could make some VERY unlikely statements based on my humble observations, then you would pay attention too. What I'm looking for is this; does masonry acknowledge such hidden beauties as these area codes and possibly teach more of such subtle details within our physical world, or is that notion just rumor and hype spread by those who dont know and have not been a brother but love to guess what is taught in the process of becoming a better man ? I am certain that it wont influence my making application, but i do not know, decline a guess, yet it would be nice to know that i will find more of such "easter eggs" (to borrow from computer jargon) in my world as i progress, and presuming i am found worthy of standing among good men of charitable disposition. Can anyone comment on this topic without breaking a rule? And thank you for tolerating me, and this long question!
