Fairly New to MTG. Advice please.

Hello all. As the title says I’m a fairly new player. while I know there are plenty of resources online I would like to get people’s perspective on the state of the game. Also I would appreciate some advice one deck building. I want to go into Standard format but I’m also not sure what cards/sets are allowed and which ones have be rotated out. I have experience with the YuGiOh TCG so I’m not new to card games just new to MTG. It’s been easy online but, I want to transition into IRL matches. Thanks again for any and all advice.
