It’s taken me some time to process the new “apology video” that Jimmy put out and, like a lot of you, I am less happy as time goes on.

I didn’t know what to expect from it. My expectations weren’t high but I definitely had an idea of what I wanted to see-knowing full well that might not happen. But this video kind of confused me. At times there were things that he was saying that I really liked. Him addressing how he was telling people to fuck off for example wasn’t something I expected to see. But the reality is that while at least two things were good, the rest of it just left a sour taste in my mouth. Sure, some of the things he addressed needed addressing for sure. But what could have been good was so engulfed in a myriad of bad faith and straw man arguments that it was difficult to take him at his word.

So here’s som things that bugged me.

“I’m not in a good place right now”. This sentiment was repeated throughout the video and it just kind of grated on me. Yeah I get it, it can’t be nice to feel like the internet is against you but you’re in a prison of your own making unfortunately. I’m sure you don’t feel good about yourself right about now but it isn’t about how you feel right now. It’s about how you made Rachael feel, and how you made your fans and followers feel.

“Drama channels were covering me for views” Could you be more GH right now? Buckle up buddy. This is how the internet works. Also I don’t know of hardly any drama channels covering this. I do know that many AFAB creators were covering it though so honestly, that just sounds diminutive of them because of their assigned or perceived sex. It also diminishes the work and effort many of these creators put in on very well thought out content. These are smart and talented people and you are accusing them of using you for views?

“You guys are being ableist” This really rubbed me wrong. He not only straw manned so many really wonderful discussions that were happening on this subreddit (cause we know he lurks) but he also completely misrepresented what our problem with him was. None of us expected him to apologize for being autistic. We just wanted him to take responsibility for his actions. When autistics apologize for hurting people’s feelings because of a negative effect of their autism on others, they aren’t apologizing for existing. Yes there is plenty of ableism out there. Yes the world tends to be for NTs. But that doesn’t mean you don’t have to take responsibility when you hurt others.

“Me telling people to fuck off was mostly justified” No it wasn’t. It just wasn’t. That’s all I have to say on that.

“People are spreading false narratives about me” I lost track of how many times that got brought up. The funny part is, he never quantifies what that narrative is. I mean other than by straw man arguments. It felt more like a deflection for his shitty behavior than a genuine reason for him starting Blockagedon.

“Rachael and I aren’t friends anymore because she broke my trust [and therefore I’m under no obligation to reach out to her personally to apologize]”. I really wish he had made the effort to reach out to Rachael personally before he did this video. Regardless of her actions that night, what he did was hurtful and wrong and she deserves to hear it from him first. Him just apologizing like that in the video felt less than genuine. Like there’s very little chance she will see it anyway but it also doesn’t give her the chance to talk to him about it and share her pain with him. So it is just the end of the conversation. Also he blocked her and she has no way of contacting him so he basically has all the power in his dynamic because she can’t explain herself to him in private.

“I had so many people sending me nudes” We get it. Your inbox is full of p@$$y. Doesn’t mean you have a right to act on it. Also from what I have come to understand from Brina’s latest video (go watch it guys!) it wasn’t just people who sent him sexually charged messages that ended up with him coming onto them in the DMs. You had all the power to dictate every aspect of those relationships. Doesn’t matter how many people were following you. Using your DMs as a booty call list is gross and disgusting. And treating Afabs messaging you at all as an invitation to flirt and try and make things more sexual than they are is gross and disgusting.

There are plenty of other little nuggets I didn’t have time or space for but this has been eating at my brain and I wanted to get it out there. What were things that you had problems with?
