So a company (hair.com) posted an ad looking for a videographer. Basically they are looking for a videographer to film a hair stylist doing 4 different hair styles on 4 different models.
Hair.com already has a modeling agency that they want to use and the modeling agency has asked for $7,800. My cut is $5,000. But hair.com is paying me an advance payment of $9,800. I am to pay the modeling agency $7,800 from my advance payment. Which that seems odd to me that they want me to pay the modeling agency that they have already picked out.
Hair.com has not asked for a w-9. They did not watch my demo reel. They did mail me the $9,800 check, but I have not deposited it. The modeling agency has asked for a cashier's check.
I couldn't find the modeling agency 'Reborn Models' on Google. But they are apparently in New York, which hair.com is also in New York. One side note, when the hair.com rep signed the contract, she dated it like a European (day/month/year) but they are supposed to be in New York.
My contact for hair.com is listed on their website, which is pretty nice website for it to be fake. They also have a YouTube channel.
Also the check was mailed from Columbus, Ohio but the check is from a Heartfire Media from San Antonio, tx.
The only reason I think it's real is because hair.com is a pretty nice site and they already have a YouTube channel with a variety of videos. But everything else sounds like a scam.
