Post Body

Just started PPG school in a featureless area of the midwest. (No mountains, no cliffs, etc.) The plains.

I'm 6'0" and 230lbs

My instructor is allowing me to use his new school wing for kiting at the school all the way through first flight (and their paramotor, etc.) He recommended going ahead and getting a kite wing or an A or B wing and a "ground harness" or free flight harness (SupAir Everest3 - very comfy to kite in) to kite with for practice now, but recommended going ahead and ordering the wing I'll want so it arrives about the time I solo (expected 6 weeks lead time for some equipment or some such).

When asked what I wanted to do, I said PPG, PG, to include cross country PG someday. I know you only have so many hundred hours on a wing, but I want to try it all. (I don't have the funds or time off to go spend a month or even a week in primo PG country every year) but nevertheless, the availability is very important to me in wing selection and I will have a free flight harness already.

In short, I'm shopping for a dual use PPG/PG wing for a beginner. I am in school and will likely have soloed before I fly it. -and I'm not made of money folks, getting into this will be at the financial limit for the hobbies/entertainment budget. I can afford this, but not a bunch of extra. -hence why I want a do-all wing. The complete paramotor setup, helmet with Sena comms and a new wing will take me just over $10.5k

Searching online with my instructor we came up with the BGD Echo Motor (L) wing or the MacPara Charger 2 ((XL) wing. He and I are both leaning towards the Charger 2. Both are rated for free flight and powered (foot launch) and my weight. They are almost the same price range.

My weight is 230lbs, paramotor setup is ~65lbs, and estimate 15lbs fuel.

One day I may get a dedicated wing for PG or live closer to somewhere that's awesome for it, but neither are true for at least the next year or two and I'm already in PPG school (and fully intendto finish and fly). I don't mind if I can't keep up with PG wings for now.

Hope this is enough information, I don't mean to sound gruff, I just wanted to ixnay the suggestions that aren't feasible for me right now (spend time in a different state, buy two wings this year, etc). I AM here to learn so advice, concerns, constructive criticism, whatever you have I'm open to it.
