Trialing out freebsd

Coming in from debian looking to trial freebsd over couple weeks. Installed to my machine ( a refurb HP 800 desktop) and installing gnome. Smooth so far.
Any tips to a new commer for desktop? Thanks!

Looks like I got good suggestions from the guys despite my impatient jump in. I'm gonna push through this install despite having the xorg failure..

EDIT 2 Got it to work! Thanks to Vermaden s guide I just had to install missing Intel driver!
