From what I see, Framework's customisable and modular nature presents a great opportunity for turning it into a lapdock or however next generation of personal computing devices will be called.
Community could start a project that aims to figure out how to most efficiently use existing Framework parts to build something that is more or less just a shell and has a slot for a phone in the place where touchpad is now.
Of course this is just an initial idea, it would require a lot of refinement.
But I strongly believe that this kind of phone-in-a-shell devices will become more and more popular. Phones are currently the primary way of getting information, but because of their glowing-rectangle form factor, they can not catch up to PCs in terms of productivity. Yet. A device that allows phone to be used for productivity would become very popular, and it would very likely be much easier to construct than a whole laptop PC. Yes, I know that it has already been tried, and that it did not lead to revolution. And this convergence revolution probably will not come for quite a few more years.
What I am saying is that Framework is an excellent foundation for such device, and that it would make sense for the community to make some preparations, so that pieces are in place by the time the revolution does start.
