Morning/noonish, fragrance friends! Last night I was giddy to receive a new package from my fairy godsniffer u/jgloger with our split order of TRNP goodies. All hail the fragrant goddess Teone! I spent about an hour in the middle of the night cataloging and categorizing all my new goodies into ammo boxes and spreadsheets, so I got a late start this morning. Glad to know I’m not the only one ;)

I’m launching this offensive with TRNP Garden of Pleasures - A fervent collision of two different kinds of oud, a profusion of flowers and subtle spices. I won’t flatter myself and say I can identify both types of oud. But I do detect hefty amounts of oud, and it doesn’t lean strongly in any one direction - very slightly animalic and not at all medicinal, perhaps because of the blend. It's accompanied by almost equally impressive amounts of creamy, unmistakably mysorean sandalwood. The serenity of sandalwood is challenged by the headiness of champaca, while lotus brings its own very distinct and uniquely vegetal floral note. I detect some unlisted spices - cardamon, saffron, or a little of both? - which in turn coax out the inherent spiced nature of the oud.

This may be my favorite Teone Reinthal yet, although I would need to wear this side by side with Nefertum and Night song to be suuuure. And of course, I have about 12 more new Teone samples vying to for that same spot in my heart and fragrance wardrobe...
