Is there a way to clean a vintage perfume / cologne bottle to store other fragrances?

I have a collection of vintage Avon bottles I'd like to get the Wild Country funk out of and repurpose but the scent is so nauseatingly powerful, I have sort of given up hope that they can be refreshed. Any ideas?
