Why did Tobacco companies get into fragrances?

Post Body

I get luxury clothing and cosmetics companies making fragrances. But when I look at houses like Davidoff and Dunhill, I kind of blank out. Why did tobacco companies get into something not at all related to their main line of business? Or is it just luxury begetting luxury?

Does anyone have historical reasons for the crossover or expansion?
