So I’m a fresh student and in need of a new fountain pen but I don’t know where to start. I’ve been writing with fountain pens since kindergarten, I’ve had a Lamy - broke it in 6th grade oopsie and many other pens, but two pens stood the test of time and careless school years: and both are Faber-Castell Scribolino, they took so many drops and still work quite well. But they look kinda goofy for my age now and also the damage done to them starts to show. I’m looking for the best pens under 50-60$. The options I’ve been considering are: Lamy Safari or Nexx, Pilot Metropolitan or Kakuno, Kaweco Sport or Perkeo, Platinum Preppy. (I can’t find TWSBI’s in my country) The safe choice would obviously be Lamy since I’be previously owned a Safari and liked it from what I can remember. But I’m wondering if one of my other choices or any other that you have in that budget is smoother. I like Medium and Broad nibs and I would like a very smooth pen, that puts down ink really nicely. I don’t mind the look of the pen.
