Testing Journals
Post Body

So I've been buying hardbound journals for years, and sometimes even using them. Tonight I pulled them out and tested them (discretely) with a range of inks and nibs.

Hand.Book, Rhodia, Midori/Travelers, Semikolon, Clairefontaine, and Gmund did very well, as did some bound with Tomoe.

Leuchtturm, Grids/Dots, PeterPauper did very well but showed some strain here and there.

Shinola and Fieldnotes were solidly mediocre.

Paperblanks, Moleskin, and Faber Castel (this was a surprise) were poor.

The one that stood out for me as Semikolon as I've not heard them mentioned much.

The torture test was a 912FA with momiji flowing like a river. The less of a torture test was a Falcon SE with Tsuki-yo. The 'try to be nice' test was Noir Abyssal in a TWISBI EF.

I'm gradually compiling a bunch of stuff on paper versus nibs for my own purposes, but I thought I'd throw out a question, given that Semikolon kind of came from left field for me...

What widely available well made journals have worked for you?
