My lil mini review of my Camlin Trinity

Post Body

Hello beautiful pen lovers, I will try to tag the folx that requested this in the comments but I finally inked up my Camlin Trinity today so I can give my initial review! (Also please excuse any awful formatting, Iā€™m on mobile so itā€™s really a guessing game how this will look lol) āœØFor starters, the nib isnā€™t sized, but I would definitely say itā€™s at least a medium, maybe somewhere between like a LAMY fine and a thinner broad? I donā€™t know, I donā€™t have any broad nib pens because I infinitely prefer thin writing (though the LAMY nib is quite nice if you are also a fine/ef nib lover but want more variety without committing to a medium) but my only medium (to my knowledge off the top of my head) is my Pilot Metropolitan which feels rather slim for a medium to me. Idk, regardless, this bad boy is pretty dang thick in my opinion. I believe someone said they had issues with one of theirs being scratchy, but this one was smooth! Had a bit of a skipping problem at first, but it may just be a ā€œneeding to break it inā€ kind of issue, which leads into the next point. āœØSecond, she is my first ā€œleakerā€. Idk what the actual term is, if there is one, I dove head first into fountain pens so while my collection has blossomed quickly (I got my first two pens for my birthday in late April of this year), I am not entirely up to date with the terminology and what have you. Either way, I had my first leak when writing with this one. Itā€™s a VERY wet nib in my opinion, I felt like I had to race the clock to write fast so it wouldnā€™t be a blurry mess. That being said, Iā€™ve already established I have tiny handwriting, so that likely has a lot to do with my ability level with a larger nib. I think for writing larger or maybe headers, etc. the nib wouldnā€™t be an issue! It also only leaked that once, so far at least. āœØI do love the converter mechanism that came in it. Itā€™s a plunger mechanism I reckon? It is similar to the oneā€™s Iā€™ve seen of that style, but has the ā€œcontrolā€ on the side and you slide it up and down to fill it with ink. Definitely by far the easiest converter to prime Iā€™ve used, it filled completely on the second go. Piston fillers normally take at least 3 to 4 attempts and even then they often still have a small air bubble that I give up trying to get rid of. āœØFinally, I LOVE the style of the pen. I think itā€™s definitely a love it or hate it kind of style, but I love how thin it is, the aesthetics that lean on classical vintage pen designs, and it posts nicely. I may honestly get the green color as well because they just look so sleek and practical. Theyā€™re also really affordable, like $10-$20 depending where you purchase, so if it getā€™s beat up it isnā€™t heartbreaking. āœØOverall, I do recommend trying one (or two or three as Iā€™ve heard they can be hit or miss) but not as a first pen ā˜ŗļø
