Hello beautiful pen lovers, I will try to tag the folx that requested this in the comments but I finally inked up my Camlin Trinity today so I can give my initial review! (Also please excuse any awful formatting, Iām on mobile so itās really a guessing game how this will look lol) āØFor starters, the nib isnāt sized, but I would definitely say itās at least a medium, maybe somewhere between like a LAMY fine and a thinner broad? I donāt know, I donāt have any broad nib pens because I infinitely prefer thin writing (though the LAMY nib is quite nice if you are also a fine/ef nib lover but want more variety without committing to a medium) but my only medium (to my knowledge off the top of my head) is my Pilot Metropolitan which feels rather slim for a medium to me. Idk, regardless, this bad boy is pretty dang thick in my opinion. I believe someone said they had issues with one of theirs being scratchy, but this one was smooth! Had a bit of a skipping problem at first, but it may just be a āneeding to break it inā kind of issue, which leads into the next point. āØSecond, she is my first āleakerā. Idk what the actual term is, if there is one, I dove head first into fountain pens so while my collection has blossomed quickly (I got my first two pens for my birthday in late April of this year), I am not entirely up to date with the terminology and what have you. Either way, I had my first leak when writing with this one. Itās a VERY wet nib in my opinion, I felt like I had to race the clock to write fast so it wouldnāt be a blurry mess. That being said, Iāve already established I have tiny handwriting, so that likely has a lot to do with my ability level with a larger nib. I think for writing larger or maybe headers, etc. the nib wouldnāt be an issue! It also only leaked that once, so far at least. āØI do love the converter mechanism that came in it. Itās a plunger mechanism I reckon? It is similar to the oneās Iāve seen of that style, but has the ācontrolā on the side and you slide it up and down to fill it with ink. Definitely by far the easiest converter to prime Iāve used, it filled completely on the second go. Piston fillers normally take at least 3 to 4 attempts and even then they often still have a small air bubble that I give up trying to get rid of. āØFinally, I LOVE the style of the pen. I think itās definitely a love it or hate it kind of style, but I love how thin it is, the aesthetics that lean on classical vintage pen designs, and it posts nicely. I may honestly get the green color as well because they just look so sleek and practical. Theyāre also really affordable, like $10-$20 depending where you purchase, so if it getās beat up it isnāt heartbreaking. āØOverall, I do recommend trying one (or two or three as Iāve heard they can be hit or miss) but not as a first pen āŗļø
