It is no longer included in search results and normal feeds (front page, hot posts, subreddit posts, etc). It remains visible only via the author's post history.
This has confused me as much as the next person... so long as the next person is also confused.
So, I think what happened is that Reddit's allowed communities to archive and unarchive posts if they want to (save for a few specific categories like news), meaning you really can go on posts that are 6 years old (it's always the ones that are 6 years old) and comment on them, scaring the crap out of whoever made it a million years ago. Thought that was a glitch.
I don't know how the other mods stand on that, but personally I would leave it as it is in case you suddenly decide to go back to a post from 2 years ago and scare the living daylights out of someone who commented just before a post archived.
So... what do you think about it? Cool or codswallop?
