I know we are in weird times with the pandemic but we had a situation we thought was odd and are pretty upset about. Our original court date for the every 3 month hearing was cancelled on April 1. Then we find out today there was a court case that we didn't get a chance to go to (wife usually attends). That was fine, whatever. But we were more concerned about the GAL not even knowing there was a court hearing today until we told her. So that means everything that was done at the hearing today was without any input from the GAL. Changes were made with visitations and theyre now allowed unsupervised visits. It was all just new shocking info to us. Is it common for a court case to happen and change parts of the case plan without the GAL's input? Isn't the GAL there for the child's welfare and to be their advocate? Seems like our foster kid's right were violated without the GAL input. Thanks for any info or stories
