Anyone ever fostered while in a long-term relationship?

Post Body

I have always been interested in fostering, particularly older children and teens. I have a boyfriend of four years (great guy!). We do not intend to move in together (we have both been married before) or have our own children (I yeeted my fallopian tubes after Roe fell, and he is in his late forties). If I fostered, it would be my own endeavor; I would not ask him to co-parent. But Iā€™m wondering how that works or if it is something that is even possible. Will agencies let you foster if a non-foster-parent partner will be around but not living in the home? Would he need to agree to a background check or some other certification process? Would love to hear from anyone else who has fostered under these circumstances, particularly how it changed your relationship. Located in NY.
