The last safety car infringement penalty was Giovinazzi in 2019, for which he got 10 seconds. Perez likely had two infringements. It is not the FIA’s job to remind drivers of the rules. 5 seconds would be perhaps the ruling with the least sporting integrity, sending a message that if you win on track, we will change the rules to make sure it sticks.

I think it’s probably the most pathetic ruling possible. Gio got 10 seconds for safety car infringement in 2019. To have two of those violations and say 5 seconds because you don’t want to change the results is a joke

Checo was clearly the best driver today, but they need to enforce the rules. He should realistically get 20s of penalties for his two infringements. The backlash of Canada 2019 has clearly been detrimental to the integrity of the series
