How do you calculate these? I ask because I generally like to use this site.. They had George’s race pace as better than Ham’s using their fastest 90% of laps, and I’d like to understand the discrepancy.
Maybe. Russell also started 6 places behind Hamilton, and was 6 seconds behind him within the first two laps due to that. Race pace analysis is supposed to get rid of that and just consider who was lapping faster once they were away and running. I’m really not sure who that would be this race, and want to know why they’re getting two different answers.

This is it. Looking at this site, they remove all VSC and SC laps, along with lap 1. They have a box plot of race pace on the site which is maybe more interesting. Russell has a lot more outlier slow laps, both at the start of the race and on the restart in traffic and giving the place back to Hamilton.
