And literally the local dirt race track guys in America where I live who win and get booed all the time have told me it literally drives them to keep winning.
I've never had problems with booing. It's part of fandom. When the Green Bay Packers visit my Vikings I'm gonna boo them because they are our rivals. As long as it doesn't become personal and vile and done at an inappropriate time I think booing is fine.
