New to the game but in love with the cosmetics.

I'm very very new and I'm hoping to invest myself into the game quite a bit but I've been wondering. I noticed that winter legendary weapons have dropped and that made me wonder if previous legendaries have looked as cool as the current new winter ones, or are those now locked away behind the previous seasons they were released in and now don't drop?
Purely a cosmetic question, thank you for any help.
I'm also open to any beginner tips!
