So far, I've had four great experiences hiring designers and front-end coders through /r/forhire, and now it's time for us to hire a part-time PHP developer so I once again turn to you.
We're looking for someone with PHP skills and experience with MVC frameworks. We use Kohana specifically, so experience there would be preferred but not necessary. We're a startup based in NYC but we're perfectly happy to hire out-of-state or overseas deverlopers.
This gig will require a few hours (averaging 5, but load will vary by week) of your time per week, and we'd want a loose commitment for a minimum of three months initially (though we'll start with a single project and see how that goes before committing to on-going work). We're happy to keep you around longer if you're happy to stay. Nights and weekends are fine, and we try to be very reasonable with regards to turnaround time.
There are roughly two phases to this gig:
- The first phase involves you learning our very simple PHP templating system. You'll hook up new sites through the templating system, and you'll also support some of our current sites.
- If you do well with that for a month or two, we may want to give you a few extra hours each week and have you work on some of our backend dashboards and admin tools.
Absolute must-demonstrate skills and knowledge:
- PHP5
- OOP
- MVC Frameworks
- HTML/CSS
- A few live projects that I can play with.
Skills that would be nice, but are not required:
- The Kohana framework
- MongoDB and the Mongo PHP drivers
Information you should PM me with if you're interested:
- Your name
- Your location
- Your email address
- Your hourly rate
- A code sample. Show me your proudest work. Bonus points if it's on GitHub.
- If you have a resume online, send a link. Otherwise, I'm more interested in your live sites and code sample.
- A few sentences about yourself.
I'm truly looking forward to what this wonderful community has to offer. I currently have three /r/forhire's "on active duty" and I'm excited to add a fourth to our team.
Thanks in advance for your time!
