Hello, I have a somewhat unusual request, I'm looking for any instrumentalists and producers/mixers who would be interested in creating (or helping create) an Ambient Jazz-themed cover of the second third of the song A Nightmare to Remember by Dream Theater (timestamps 4:58 to 8:35). It would be slightly slower in tempo and feature a saxophone instead of vocals (perhaps shifting some guitar work to piano as well). I want it to sound emotional and thoughtful, but not overdramatic.

I'm willing to hire 1 person to do all of it, or multiple people to do separate instruments. Depending on the production quality and how much of the song you'd be working on I would be willing to spend somewhere between $60 to $220 or more on the complete finished product.

I understand some people would be able to produce a relatively simple and straightforward cover with little in the way of frills (all production, play-by-ear, that sort of thing), but others would want to record real instruments individually (such as with sheet music). What I would be willing to pay would vary accordingly, if you require sheet music to do the job, I'll buy it, no cost to you.

If different people are willing to work on separate tracks (1 on sax, 1 on piano, 1 on guitar and drums, 1 to mix, etc.), I will split the budget between you and adjust depending on individual quality.

If you have reference material online, that will be very helpful in determining your eligibility, I may ask you to provide a rough draft of the song (perhaps with "watermarks") if you intend to do a large portion of the work before I've agreed to pay.

Since I'm not sure what sort of responses I will get, I've not settled on any fixed BPM, so that remains an open question until I get offers.
