I’ve been playing for several years and thought I’d write what I’ve learned. 1. High level buildings. This applies to both great buildings and special event buildings. They are only effective at higher levels so keeping lower level buildings uses a lot of space but doesn’t give many benefits. For great buildings, aim to get each new one to level 10 before building another. 2. Population. Houses and the Tower of Babel don’t give much population. Event buildings often offer a lot, and the Innovation Tower is best for population and also gives forge points. Put up Inno and you can delete all your houses and Babel and have room for better things. 3. Efficient roads. Space is the rarest commodity so use the least roads possible. Put your largest buildings at the edge of your city. Try to have each building only touch one road, and have it touch the shorter side of each building. Corners of your city are great for minimizing roads. For example, put a 5x5 next to a 4x4 and then you only need that one square of road to connect to both buildings. 4. Arc 80. This is the most important building and getting it to level 80 is a priority because then you can participate in the 1.9 threads where you can get many blueprints and medals. Find 2 to 4 people with an arc around your same level, and take turns taking reward spots. This is the quickest way to get blueprints for your arc. Above level 70, ask your experienced guild mates, they may have a big stash of Forge points to help you out. 5. Aging up. Some people like to park in an age for a long time, but aging up provides several expansions, so I like to age up when I’m in the top 15 of my neighborhood. This keeps plundering to a minimum, and keeps those expansions coming. 6. Use Guild Expeditions and Guild Battle Grounds to build up forge points. 7. Remember this is a game for fun. If you don’t enjoy any of the above, consider skipping them.
