I am a member of natural resource and energy crew for the California Conservation Corps. I joined to get my start in forestry (I went to school for something completely unrelated).
Is there a way I can get started as a forestry tech or aide?
I do eventually want to go back to school for forestry or environmental studies, but is there a way I can get started now based on my experiences?
I have been on multiple work spikes to the Redwoods to build and rehabilitate trails and I have been on different groundskeeping crews. I also have previously worked as a land surveying technician before. I’ve done construction surveying, topographic surveys, and as-builts.
Would this be enough to apply for a technician or aide position?
I am located in the LA/Orange County area. I prefer someplace not too far, but I am willing to relocate anywhere
Thank you
